Format support should say exactly what the application can do.

Confirmed archive handling

The current pipeline accepts one local directory or ZIP file, inventories entries and preserves the source. Common photography archives may include JPEG/JPG, Nikon NEF and NRW, TIFF, PNG, MOV and MP4. Actual behaviour still depends on file structure and available decoders.

• Progressive local inventory and issue review
• Exact duplicate-content detection
• Non-destructive organisation preview
• Copy to a destination selected by the user
• Destination presence, size and SHA-256 verification

SECTION / 02

Recognition

Recognition classifies a file or archive entry so it appears in inventory. It is not a promise that every preview, codec or proprietary field can be decoded.

SECTION / 03

Metadata extraction

Available capture dates, dimensions, camera and lens information, exposure details and GPS information can be read where present. Missing fields are treated as missing, not corruption.

SECTION / 04

Preview support

A thumbnail is a convenience for review, not the preservation test. RAW and video preview availability may depend on embedded previews or supported local decoders.

SECTION / 05

Verification is format-independent

Presence, size and SHA-256 comparison can verify the expected copy without interpreting the photograph. A green VERIFIED state appears only when every expected destination item passes.
