Photo Archive Rescue works with files already downloaded to a Windows PC. It opens one ZIP file or extracted folder, shows what is inside, helps plan a separate organised copy and checks the result.

It does not sign in to Nikon, upload photographs or change the original archive.

SECTION / 01

1. Open one source

Choose one local ZIP file or extracted folder. ZIP contents are treated as untrusted input and streamed for inspection without using the source as a writable workspace.

2. See what is in the archive

The application records files, sizes, types and available photo information as it works. Unsupported, unreadable, incomplete or unusual items remain visible when the files show that condition.

3. Review exact duplicates and problems

Exact duplicate files have identical content; photographs that merely look similar are different. Finding a duplicate does not delete source files or make a preservation decision for you.

4. Preview the rescue destination

Choose a separate destination and inspect the proposed organisation before copying. Collision and uncertainty remain visible. The source is never renamed, edited or deleted.

SECTION / 05

5. Copy and check

Photo Archive Rescue checks that every expected destination item exists with the expected size and matches the source. For advanced users, it uses SHA-256 fingerprints for the content check. The archive receives a green VERIFIED state only when every expected item passes.
