NIKON SERVICES / IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

Do not assume NIKON IMAGE SPACE will move into Nikon Imaging Cloud.

Nikon Imaging Cloud is a separate service. Nikon’s termination notice tells people to download saved images and says remaining NIKON IMAGE SPACE data will be deleted; it does not offer automatic migration of an existing library.

The safe action is to download the photographs you want to preserve, retain the original export and decide on a future destination only after the archive has been inspected.

Two services, not one migration

A similarly branded Nikon service does not prove that files, albums, tags or account history will move between platforms. Nikon’s shutdown notice should be treated as the authority for migration statements and deadlines.

Why camera compatibility is a separate question

Imaging Cloud compatibility concerns supported cameras and its own workflows. It does not answer whether older NIKON IMAGE SPACE content is present. Check Nikon’s current compatibility documentation before choosing it as a future workflow.

What to do now

Download first, keep Nikon’s original ZIP files, inspect counts and formats, preserve metadata, create a second independent copy and verify the destination. Do not delete the source merely because another service appears available.

If the service suits your camera and storage needs, evaluate it as a new destination after rescue. Compare export options, original-file handling, supported cameras, privacy and how easily you can leave again.
